On October 11, 2005 I was invited to address the Parliamentary Friends of Schizophrenia at a luncheon in Canberra. My presentation focused on the difficulties - and tragedy - of living with a mental illness for both Riley and his loved ones. I stressed the imperative of an appropriate level of funding if governments are to meet their responsibilities in the mental health sector and save people like Riley from degradation and death.
